Materials (for one valentine):
* a roll of Smarties® candy, two peppermint Lifesavers®, a stick of gum
* heart stickers
* a rubber band
* anywhere hole punch
* 3" string / craft thread
* banner with printed message or stamped message

We give credit for this valentine idea to the Family Fun website
www.familyfun.com .We have made a few changes to it
by keeping the packaging on the Lifesavers® and adding a banner
with a message.

We used a 3/16" anywhere hole punch to place holes in the packaging.
An ice pick would most likely achieve the same thing. Thread the
rubber band through the holes in the Lifesavers®.

Place the roll of Smarties® between the Lifesavers® and the piece
of gum lengthwise over the lot. Slip the rubber band
over the ends of the gum. Add stickers.  If using stamped images,
stamp gum wrapper prior to placing on the plane.

The banner can be a simple rectangle strip of paper with a hand
written or stamped message.  We used Microsoft Word® and
merely typed our phrase with the "wordart" feature.  It put the
letters in the banner format.  We merely copied the phrase 22
times onto the page and printed it out.  We did a straight cut
down the middle of the page and by following the curve of the
words, the banner shape resulted.  We placed TO: and FROM:
on the back of the banner.

Place a hole in the banner and tie it onto the plane with craft thread.
This project is always a hit!
