RE-LABEL IT

IDEA

There are many items that can be re-labeled.  We have chosen a wine bottle, candy bar and
popcorn packet as fun items to start with!

Wine Bottle Labels (750ml bottle pictured):
Front Label style - our example label measures 5 1/2" square.
That should work on most bottles but may need adjustment
based on the actual dimensions of the label on the bottle you
are covering.  Place small hole punches (1/16" diameter)
approximately 1/4" deep into the corners of the card stock.
Eyelets are optional, we are using them to help show placement
of the holes in the photo.

Vertical Ribbon Placement (1 yard of ribbon is used):  With
the stamped label facing you, start in the upper left corner
feeding the ribbon up through the hole, bringing about 9 inches
of ribbon through. Using the other end of the ribbon, bring it up
through the upper right corner, down through the lower right
corner and up through the lower left corner. Don't pull the ribbon
taut as it does need to slip over the bottle. Tie a bow or a
decorative knot with the ribbon's ends. We pulled the bottom
loop of a bow out, leaving only the upper bow loop.  Tip: A little
repositionable adhesive, like Hermafix Transfer ®, can be used
to keep your stamped label from sliding.

Horizontal Ribbon Placement (up to 4 feet of ribbon used):
With the stamped label facing you, start in the upper left corner
feeding the ribbon up through the hole, leaving about 9 inches
of ribbon in the back of the label.  Using the same end of the
ribbon
, pull it down through the upper right corner, up through
the lower left corner, down through the lower right corner and
up through the upper left corner.  The upper corner has ribbon
threaded through it twice (we used a threader to accomplish the
last bit).  If using 1 yard (3 feet) of ribbon, a decorative knot
works well in the corner.  A bow needs closer to 4 feet of ribbon.

Full label style - our example measures 5 1/2" by 11".  You
will reduce the width of the 8 1/2" by 11" cardstock to a width
that covers your wine bottle label.  Stamp the cover as
desired and adhere it to the bottle using double sided adhesive.
Tip: A little repositionable adhesive, like Hermafix Transfer ®,
can be used to keep your stamped label from sliding.

Candy Bars
These little things are great to re-label. If you are using a nice
bar of chocolate, you may want to cut the original label down
and put it back in place (so it fits under your stamped label)
allowing the recipient to know what he/she is getting. Measure
the length of the candy bar (in our example it is 6 inches) or
use the discarded wrapper as a pattern to make your hand
stamped label.  Close the stamped wrapper with either double-
sided adhesive or make a coordinating sticker using your
Xyron® sticker maker.

Popcorn Packets
Place the packet down lengthwise onto a piece of cardstock.
Leave 3/4" to 1" on each side of the packet and cut the
cardstock lengthwise accordingly.  In our example the
cardstock measures 7" x 11". Fold the cardstock up to cover
the packet, to determine where to place the folds.  Two
decorative brads, a 1/4" in from the cardstock's edge on both
sides were used to close the sides.  Alternatively eyelets or
double-sided adhesive can be used.  Velcro® was used to close
the cover.  Closure variation:  Instead of creating a flap to
Velcro, keep the top cardstock edges even, decoratively edge
and close with a pull through knot or bow.
